When the real estate market in Alberta was at its height, the dream of owning a home for a lot of people was more often a pipedream. During this recession, some people managed to jump into a new home as a result of the big dip in prices. However, if recent headlines are to be believed, housing prices are on the rise again. Does that mean an end to the affordable home and what's the likelihood that real estate will get over-heated again? The concept is called a "White Box" home, and if you're handy with plumbing and painting, it could be for you. Rainbow Williams is Project Manager with Spring Lake Ranch, the developer behind White Box homes. Rainbow joined Russell in our Daybreak Edmonton studio.
